“When the going gets tough the tough get on their yoga mat.”

Curious about yoga?  This class is a great introduction to basic Hatha Yoga, the  style that is most familiar to people.  Belts and bricks are used (Iyengar Yoga) to help you go into the movements better and to help align the body  The only requirement is that you are to get on and off the floor.  In ten to twelve sessions you will learn basic asanas (poses), breath work to relax you and simple meditation for stress management.

Yoga is a practice of exercise that thoroughly covers every aspect of the body with you controlling how challenging you want it to be.  We do not concentrate on the aerobic side of yoga. Our practice is for toning, strengthening muscles, increasing flexibility and learning to deeply relax.  This is not a competition sport.  You only do what your body will allow, going a little further with each session. You will soon notice a great difference and your body will thank you for it in many ways.

These classes are suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.  We explore different positions and concentrate on correct alignment to get maximum benefit without causing damage to our bodies.

Please do not have a large meal for at least two hours before we begin.  Dress in comfortable, nonrestrictive clothing.  Bring a belt and a towel if you do not already have your own mat and yoga belt.

Cost: $125  for ten sessions or $15 for a single class
